If you love shoes as much as we do, there is really only one place to
start shopping for your next pair on the web - Zappos shoes!
Established by local producer and distributor of the men’s footwear
brand Regal, ICC International, the new, stylish ‘Shoes Cafe’ in Thailand
is designed to appeal to male consumers looking for some time out whilst
shoe shopping. Vice president of ICC International’s shoe division,
Khanisorn Suyanand, has cited facts and figures to support his claim
that men spend little time shopping for shoes and are therefore likely
to welcome the opportunity to refuel with quality coffee. According
to Suyanand, results of a recent survey showed that women buy at least
six pairs of shoes per annum, whilst men invest in just a modest one
or two pairs. The ICC VP also revealed that the company intends to set
up two or three additional cafes in 2010, where the range of shoes presented
will complement the coffee menu in terms of colour. Designed to appeal
to young, 25-40 year old professionals, Regal men’s shoes are available
for prices in the region of Bt3,000 – Bt6,000. Having registered growth
of 12% in sales for the first half of 2010, ICC hopes to increase this
figure by another 22% during the latter half of the year, to average
at 15-16% for the full year review period. In terms of the location,
further cafés are expected to open in key Bangkok shopping malls, including
CentralWorld and Siam Paragon. With average retail spaces of 36 metres
square and representing investments of Bt500,000 – Bt1 million, the
coffee sold through these outlets will be supplied by leading Japanese
coffee industry provider, UCC Coffee.
